There's a lot you can learn from someone with a rare disease, especially when the disease affects their quality of life. Rilee Bjerke had a rare disease called Dyskeratosis Congenita. This meant many hospital appointments and stays, as well as chronic pain and a list of symptoms and aliments that seemed to go on and on. Despite this, she fought her hardest to live life as normal as possible and had talked about owning her own apartment with her dog Oliver, even in her final days. She taught everyone around her to look on the bright side of things and to "keep on keeping on". We bring to you Reflections by Rilee, designs inspired by Rilee's thoughts and feelings of her experience with her illness. Let this be a reminder to look at yourself in the mirror and if you don't like what you see in your reflection, keep changing and working on a better you. Live life in the best way possible for those who didn't get a chance.
A portion of the proceeds are donated to DC Outreach, Inc. to provide information, research, and support services to families worldwide affected by Dyskeratosis Congenita.
